SolarEdge GO Platform

ACTIVE PLATFORM

SolarEdge GO is the unified installer and operational platform for SolarEdge systems. It consolidates what was previously handled by separate tools — local Bluetooth commissioning, monitoring, fleet management, remote diagnostics, alert handling, and equipment registration — into a single application and web ecosystem.

SolarEdge GO is the current operational standard for Wadadli Solar SolarEdge work.

Platform Overview

SolarEdge GO operates on two levels simultaneously:

Mode How It Connects What It Does
Local (Bluetooth) BT to inverter — no internet required Commissioning, local diagnostics, event log, string/optimizer status
Cloud (Remote) Via inverter's internet connection Fleet monitoring, remote diagnostics, alert management, site management, reporting

This dual-mode design means technicians use a single app for both on-site Bluetooth work and remote fleet operations.

Why SolarEdge Transitioned Away from SetApp-Only Workflows

SetApp was built around a single use case: a technician standing in front of an inverter, connected via Bluetooth. It had no cloud integration, no fleet visibility, and no remote diagnostics capability.

As SolarEdge's commercial and fleet client base grew, the limitations became operational:

  • Site managers needed fleet-wide visibility, not just per-site reports
  • Remote diagnostics could resolve many issues before dispatching a technician
  • Commissioning workflows needed to integrate with site creation and cloud registration
  • Alert handling needed to be proactive, not just reactive

SolarEdge GO addresses all of these. SetApp remains available and functional on legacy systems, but new deployments and current commercial workflows operate through GO.

Prerequisites and Access

App Access

  • Download SolarEdge GO from iOS App Store or Google Play
  • Requires a SolarEdge installer account (not the same as a monitoring-only account)
  • Account must be associated with your company's SolarEdge installer profile

Inverter Compatibility

SolarEdge GO works with: - HD-Wave series inverters (current generation) - StorEdge hybrid inverters - Three-phase commercial inverters (SE10K and above with compatible firmware)

Older Inverter Compatibility

Some older SolarEdge inverters may have limited GO functionality or require firmware updates. If GO cannot connect or shows limited functions on a legacy system, use SetApp for local diagnostics. See SetApp Legacy Reference.

Bluetooth Range

Same as SetApp: ~10 meters for reliable connection. Stay closer in high RF-noise environments (rooftop HVAC, large electrical rooms).

Platform Sections

The GO dashboard shows:

  • My Sites — all sites associated with your installer account
  • Active Alerts — unresolved alerts across the fleet
  • Recent Activity — recent commissioning, events, status changes
  • Pending Actions — equipment registrations, configuration tasks

This is the starting point for daily fleet monitoring and morning status checks.

Site management hub:

  • Create new sites during commissioning
  • View production, status, and alerts per site
  • Access site-level monitoring data
  • View system layout and equipment list
  • Manage communication settings remotely (where supported)

Local commissioning workflow:

  • Connect to inverter via Bluetooth
  • Register equipment to the site
  • Run grid commissioning sequence
  • Pair optimizers
  • Set communication configuration
  • Verify production

See GO Commissioning Workflows for full step-by-step.

Remote and local diagnostic tools:

  • System status overview (can be done remotely via cloud)
  • Event log access
  • Optimizer and string status grid
  • Remote inverter access (supported on compatible firmware)
  • Alert detail and resolution workflow

See GO Diagnostics & Alerts for full workflow.

Fleet-level operations:

  • Multi-site performance overview
  • Alert prioritization across all sites
  • Fleet-wide reporting
  • Site filtering by system type, status, alert severity

See GO Fleet & Site Management for operations guide.

Local BT Workflow — Quick Reference

For on-site work (same Bluetooth process as SetApp, unified into GO):

  1. Open GO → tap Sites → select site (or create if commissioning)
  2. Tap Connect to initiate Bluetooth pairing with inverter
  3. Navigate to Status, Event Log, or Module Monitoring as needed
  4. All data syncs to cloud when internet is available

No Internet Required for Local Work

Bluetooth diagnostics and commissioning in GO work with no internet connection on the phone. Cloud features (fleet view, remote alerts) require internet, but local BT work does not.

GO vs. SetApp — Quick Comparison

Bluetooth local diagnostics Yes Yes
Commissioning workflow Yes Yes
Cloud fleet management Yes No
Remote diagnostics Yes (supported firmware) No
Alert management Yes No
Site creation Yes No
Equipment registration Yes No
Monitoring portal integration Yes No

Industry Transition Context

SolarEdge is in an active transition from standalone SetApp workflows to unified SolarEdge GO operations. This means:

  • New installs: Commission via GO, not SetApp
  • Existing sites: Cloud monitoring transitions to GO-managed fleet
  • Legacy documentation: May reference SetApp — this is normal
  • Field techs: Will encounter both platforms; know both

The transition does not happen on a fixed date for all systems. Older inverters on older firmware will continue to be accessed via SetApp for local work until they are upgraded or replaced.

Operational rule: Default to GO on any current deployment. Use SetApp only when GO cannot connect or when working on an explicitly legacy-documented system.
