Site Arrival SOP¶
ACTIVE SOP
This procedure governs every Wadadli Solar site arrival, regardless of scope. It is not optional.
Before Leaving the Office / Home Base¶
- [ ] Review job order and any prior site notes
- [ ] Confirm scope of work with lead tech
- [ ] Check weather — cancel or delay if active precipitation or lightning risk
- [ ] Verify all required tools are loaded
- [ ] Confirm PPE kit is complete (see PPE Standards)
- [ ] Phone charged ≥80%
- [ ] Notify lead tech of departure time
On Arrival¶
Step 1 — Exterior Assessment¶
Before approaching the structure:
- Park safely — do not block driveways, fire lanes, or access paths
- Walk the perimeter visually — look for obvious hazards:
- Downed lines
- Damaged roof sections
- Construction or hazard tape
- Unfamiliar equipment or vehicles
- Note site conditions: roof type, panel layout visible from ground, any visible damage
Step 2 — Initial Documentation¶
Document before you touch anything
Your first photos are your baseline. They protect the client and protect you.
Required arrival photos:
| # | Subject | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Street view of property | Full structure visible, time/date stamp |
| 2 | Utility meter | Show meter number and current reading if readable |
| 3 | Main electrical panel (exterior) | Condition, labeling |
| 4 | Inverter(s) — exterior view | Before any interaction |
| 5 | Roof overview (from ground or safe vantage) | Full array visible if possible |
| 6 | Any pre-existing damage visible on arrival | Cracks, broken panels, animal evidence |
Step 3 — Client / Occupant Contact¶
If property is occupied:
- Introduce yourself and the company
- Confirm scope of work with the contact person
- Get permission before accessing any interior space
- Note contact person's name in your site notes
Step 4 — Hazard Assessment¶
Before ascending:
- Check ladder placement surface is stable
- Verify anchor availability for fall protection if required
- Assess roof pitch and surface condition
- Check for wet or slippery surfaces
- Confirm no live electrical work is required before safety protocols are in place
Scope Confirmation¶
Before starting work, verbally confirm with your lead tech:
- What you are doing today
- What you are not doing today (out-of-scope items)
- Any site-specific notes from prior visits
If Conditions Are Unsafe¶
Stop Work Authority
Every Wadadli Solar technician has the authority — and the responsibility — to stop work if conditions are unsafe.
Call your lead tech immediately. Document what you observed. Do not proceed.
Conditions that require immediate stop-work: - Electrical hazard outside expected scope - Structural roof concern - Aggressive animals - Weather deteriorating rapidly - Any injury or near-miss
